Second I saw the lineup for BH6 I got this real feeling of déjà vu
You can push and pull at features all you want (which they hardly did) but the origin of each of the female character models is still very obvious
gogo’s hurts the most. i thought she looked asian until i saw a pic of elsa squinting. :/
i’ve seen so many people continue to defend this BS but you SHOULD be pissed. it’s problematic and frankly, i think it’s sexist.
why though? well, here’s why:
if Disney can vary all these men and MORE (and that’s just SOME examples) but won’t do that with women protagonists despite having the resources and skill to (seriously, look at ALL THOSE VARIED WOMEN in the background), then that’s a problem. Disney is a multibillion dollar company. it has its own theme parks around the world and the theme parks in the states have their own strict rules and regulations that might as well be their own COUNTRIES.
Disney’s Frozen made so much money at the box office. they make so much money a year that they DEFINITELY have the resources to render women better than this. they make more profit than investments now.
how is it that they’ll vary BACKGROUND characters, but give their same female protags the same face. same body type. same MODEL over and over? why do the main female characters all fit this “ideal” image?? why do they continue to recycle models for women when we vary in appearance just as much as men?
i am tired of seeing a thin white girl princess. i am upset that a Hispanic princess hasn’t even been made. even the princess of color are skinny (and some are so badly stereotyped and offensive). big eyes small nose cute lips, yeah, been there done that.
seriously. they even vary their damn animals better than women. i don’t care if this is traditional animation, some are CGI (such as Max and Bullseye). those are all one animal: horses. and those HORSES are more varied than some of the female protagonists that i have seen in disney movies. are women not even on the same scale as animals for them to render?
pay attention to this. you can like disney all you want, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! but DON’T defend their sexism, whitewashing, and other problematic aspects. please.
thats the worst shit only because my mom basically always thought I was being a little bitch when I’d complain that it still hurts your eyes
WAIT I THOUGHT IT MEANT THAT IF YOU GOT IT IN YOUR EYES IT WOULDN’T BURN (no crying)
ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT IT’S SAYING NO RIPPING?
*FLIPS TABLES* THIS IS WHY THE ENGLISH WRITTEN LANGUAGE IS CONFUSING AS FUCK I AM SO SORRY NON-NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS.
Why doesn’t it say fucking anti tangle?!
I JUST MADE BOTH MY PARENTS READ THIS I AM SO ANGRY
THEY ARE ANGRY
WE JUST HAD AN ARGUMENT ABOUT ‘TIER’ ‘TEAR’ AND ‘TEAR’
THEY THOUGHT IT MEANT NO CRYING TOO
I AM SO ANGRY
Wow I didn’t know that either.
BUT IN SPANISH THEY ADVERTISE THIS VERY SAME PRODUCT WITH THE “SIN LÁGRIMAS” SLOGAN AS IN “NO TEARS FROM CRYING”
ARE YOU FUCKING TELLING ME THAT THE COMPANY PEOPLE ARE REALLY THAT BAD AT TRANSLATING STUFF THAT THEY WENT FOR FALSE ADVERTISING????
I’M GONNA SUE SOME ASSES
No, it actually means no teary/stinging eyes, and here’s the science to prove it. Don’t only trust Tumblr posts on this guys.
You know what would be nice? Asexual characters. Not that shit of “They are interpreted as asexual because they said this and that”. I want it to be said. I want to hear the word on TV without making it sound like a bad disease.
Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short, wear shirts and boots. ‘Cause it’s OK to be a boy. But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading. ‘Cause you think that being a girl is degrading. But secretly, you’d love to know what it’s like… Wouldn’t you? What it feels like for a girl.

A company in Australia by the name of HommeMystere started making lingerie for men in April of 2013. In the beginning, they received a lot of negative publicity, mostly from women fearing their boyfriends or husbands would start wearing lingerie. So much for femininism… Now, they have consistently been making a small fortune and have become quite popular in the fashion capitals of the world. So far:
- They have made two appearances at the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas.
- They have gone public in the United States, France, Sweden, and Japan.
- They have sold out of four lines of their clothing.
- And they have reached one million veiws on their YouTube channel.
What is more, because they do not focus on the gay community, they haven’t put any barriers up against straight men who happen to make up the majority of their orders. If that is not success, I do not know what is. Cheers, HommeMystere.
i find it rlly fuckin funny when straight homophobic dudes make shows with only dudes and then get surprised when they look in their fandom and it’s just gay porn
white girls are out of control these days
literally what the fuck
If you don’t think she’s the cutest puppy in the world, you’re wrong.
Whenever people point to Mary Shelley and say “a woman invented sci-fi you know” I just think “well, I mean, technically a woman invented the whole concept of authoring books as far as we can tell but hey who’s keeping track”
*cough* a black woman *cough*
what this post doesn’t mention is that Enheduanna wasn’t really a poet. those texts that look like poetry are actually lyrics to music. Enheduanna is the first recognized composer of music (male or female). unfortunately, only her texts survive not the actual music. she was an Akkadian high priestess at Ur around 2300 b.c.
